Hasee Toh Phasee is for the romantics who like their martinis stirred not shaken. This romantic comedy mirrors the quirks in human nature subtly and provides humour in everyday situations; in the family and amongst friends. If you're looking to rediscover the magic of goofy love around Valentines, give HTP a shot. You may not like this film if you are a die-hard romantic who only subscribes to Bollywood formula.
This quirky rom-com is packed with chaos, drama and ample laughs. And its USP lies in the vibe and chemistry that the lead actors share, making it likable and a very attractive young romance. The final verdict: HTP is one of the most refreshing boy-meets-girl films to have been made in recent times. So go watch this zany, new-age date movie. This is one date you won’t regret.
'Hasee Toh Phasee' is a bedheady romantic comedy that is a bit long and has two climaxes- both of which could have overlapped, in my opinion. Nevertheless, Parineeti as Meeta is one for the ages; she is the powering force behind a well-mounted film which, for most of its 141 minutes, is a timely shot in the arm for a traditionally mishandled genre.
Hasee Toh Phasee is a refreshing, much-needed entry in the contemporary romcom genre, which has lately seen a series of uninspiring films. Teenage girls are likely to warm up to his loveable loser act. But Parineeti steals the show, making outrageous faces and giving longing looks. She cries with such conviction that you really want to give her a hug.

On the whole, HASEE TOH PHASEE is a bright-and-breezy, charming and refreshing rom-com that makes you smile, laugh and gets you moist-eyed at regular intervals. A qualitative film that warms the cockles of your heart. Go for it!
The background is a sunnier version of Monsoon Wedding (without vile uncles lurking of course), but Mathew does a good job of restraining the madness. Watch this if you want to see a love story with lovers that are not squeaky clean.

Hasee Toh Phasee is a fresh and smart romantic story that defies stereotypes at several related stories. There is no extra-melodrama, yet the movie is emotional. There are no crass jokes, yet it is humourous and to top it all, there are no love making scenes, yet the movie defines romance it its own style! It is an experimental rom-com that should not be missed.
‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ seems to have everything going for it. The smart, varying sensibilities of co-producers Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap, a likeable leading man, and a crackerjack heroine. What it doesn’t have is a coherent story, and that’s why none of the refreshing bits add up.
The only interesting part in the story is Parineeti’s acting. In fact, it’s her film all the way, and she is the hero of the film. All other characters, including Sidharth, are just seen complementing her in the movie. If you have been waiting for a Parineeti and Sidharth’s film, then book your tickets. Also, if you are not expecting much, and looking forward to just pass your time, go for Hasee Toh Phasee.
Director Vinil Mathew never let the story lose track. Not that scenes highlighting relationships - always tricky - were lost either. Anurag Kashyap did a good job with the dialgoues. Vishal and Shekhar's music is worth a listen. I would suggest that you do not miss the film. It's entertaining, youthful, refreshing.
True to the norms of Bollywood love triangles, Hasee Toh Phasee has more than its share of departures and homecomings, of abrupt partings and dramatic reunions. So what if some of them appear to be merrily arbitrary? If you do not let the occasional lapses in logic get in the way, you might actually find yourself enjoying the film. Do check it out.
No matter how you look at it, the film and every rich resplendent moment in it, belongs to Parineeti Chopra. She irons out all the rough spots in the storytelling, hides all the wrinkles in the jaded plot and makes her character seem far more empathetic than it would have been in a lesser actress' hands. Yup, if the film gets your undivided attention it's because Parineeti won't let us look away.
The film is both pleasantly surprising and utterly baffling in equal amounts. Though Vinil Mathew’s direction might not be perfect due to his lack of experience, Hasee Toh Phasee will definitely win your heart for the symbiotically arranged, pitch perfect chemistry of Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra. It was passionate and compelling, almost to make me wish that they were a real life couple and that alone becomes thew winning shot. Though Parineeti walks away with the thunder for her stellar performance, the film works primarily and mostly because it is so refreshingly lovable.
Don`t go for the movie if you are expecting a candy-floss romance. This movie is quirky and breaks some stereotypes. Parineeti`s performance is adorable and definitely a great plus point for the movie. Even though it is just a one time watch, this definitely makes a great valentines date. Take your girlfriend or spouse out for this movie and cosy up with a tub of pop corn for a not-so-typical romance.
Watch it if you want to see a different take on modern day romance. Hasee Toh Phasee is worth a watch for a solid act put together by its lead pair.
